Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. What do you not use?

We don’t use Silicone, Parabens, SLS / SLES, Butylene Glycol, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, Animal Tested Ingredients, Collagen, Triethanolamine, GMOs, Carbomer
  • 2. Are your products tested on animals?

Fresh Line does not perform animal testing and is STRICTLY against practices as such, which have also been declared as illegal in the European Union. Specifically, testing on animals in the European Union (EU) has been banned since 2004 for cosmetics and since 2009 for cosmetic ingredients. From March 2009 it is also prohibited to place on EU market cosmetics that contain ingredients which have been tested on animals. Based on the above, we wish to clarify that all of Fresh Line products are being produced within the EU, and exclusively in the production unit of the company in Attica. The reason that we do not have relevant signage on our packaging is that we consider it misleading communicating to our audience that we do not perform experiments on animals, since our company is already subject to the EU legislation.
  • 3. Do your soaps contain any foaming agents or detergents like Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate?

Our soaps do not contain synthetic foaming agents such as SLES. We have chosen to use Sodium Cocosulfate, which derives from palm oil and it is milder. In order to obtain adequate foaming result we enhance it with other ingredients, such as Glyceryl Oleate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Coco-Glucoside Tartrate, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate. The maximum concentration of the SCS, used is 5%, which is more than safe to be used in such products. Moreover, Sodium Cocosulfate is ECOCERT approved.
  • 4. Does Fresh Line have any quality certificates? What does quality mean for Fresh Line?

Fresh Line has been certified by the international quality management standard ISO 9001:2015, by demonstrating its ability to constantly provide products that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements and thus enhancing customer satisfaction through the effective application of system and processes conformed to customer and legal requirements. • 5. How do you preserve your products? What ingredient do you use instead of Parabens?

To ensure the safety of our products we use preservatives. We utilize glycols, some alcohols such as benzyl alcohol (naturally found in essential oils), dehydroacetic acid and food grade preservatives (sorbic acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate etc.). We also use antioxidants such as Tocopherol (vitamin E) and rosemary extract. All are accepted by organizations, such as ECOCERT, ICEA, etc. Phenoxythanol is also used in some of our formulations. Due to some pH restrictions we need a broad spectrum preservative so that we can offer the customer a well preserved product.
  • 6. Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?

Fresh Line uses a variety of botanical extracts and essential oils in the products’ formulas. During pregnancy hormonal levels rise and can actually trigger a reaction to certain ingredients. Therefore, during pregnancy we recommend the Demetra face care collection that is hypoallergenic and especially formulated for sensitive skin, or the Oceanid collection that offers intensive hydration and enhances skin health. Products that contain a high amount of essential oils are best to be avoided during pregnancy and lactation. Please refer to Fresh Line’s Beauty Consultant if you are pregnant and wish to buy a product.

  • 7. What if I have an adverse reaction to a product?

All Fresh Line products undergo sensitivity patch tests to minimize the potential of an allergy break-out or an irritation. Serious allergic reactions associated with cosmetics are not common. However, it is not uncommon for a person to have a mild reaction or irritation to an ingredient in a cosmetic product. In the case that you have a known allergy to specific ingredients it is important to inform our Beauty Consultants or carefully read the ingredients list. If you have a reaction, stop using all kinds of cosmetic products. When the symptoms subside, start using them again, one product at a time. This may help you to determine which product or products are responsible for the reaction. You can also perform a mini-patch test, apply the product on your inner wrist and leave it for 24 hours, if no reaction occurs then it is safe for use. If you cannot identify the source of the reaction or if your symptoms persist after you stop using the products, consult your healthcare provider.
